Ololchurra Primary School has been one of the projects we identified at the formation of Ushirika Foundation. Generous donations have already enabled us to buy new desks for the school. But, a tragic and very urgent need has arisen. We have already raised funds to purchase new desks. But, tragically, a much more urgent need has arisen. On September 20th a fire destroyed the house of one of the teachers living on campus. Her two sons, ages 2 and 4, perished in that fire, along with all her worldly goods. Her life has been completely devastated beyond measure. While money will never replace the loss of her children, your generosity can help put some the pieces back together. Donations will first be used to meet her immediate and more long term needs. Funds raised beyond her needs will be applied to an account to build all new staff housing at the school. This was on our agenda for the future, but the need is now even greater.
