We are a small non-profit trying to make a big impact by bringing individuals and corporations with resources together in partnership with those living and working in East Africa to conserve wildlife and the environment, and to help support quality education for the ones whose hands will shape the future of the world around them.

It is with profound sadness that Ushirika Foundation announces the suddent and unexpected passing of one of our founding directors. Stephen was more than a board member. He was a friend, an advisor, and wonderful human being. His passing leaves a void at Ushirika, and in the hearts of his family and friends. Stephen was a tireless fund raiser and without his efforts many of our projects would not have had the success that they have. We extend our sincere condolences to his wife Sherri, his two daughters Ailish and Mei, and the many friends he made around the world who will also be missing his smile, the twinkle in his eyes, and that sweet Irish accent. Stephen, I promise to bring cinnamon Altoids on every safari in your honor. I will miss you friend in so many ways.
